My opinion is that you have to start with a chain email informing them that in future if payment invlove you would appreciate it that the 'Kind Soul' could kindly inform everyone in advance as you guys may be creative and think of a cheaper to celebrate. Or else what are you guys there for?
Pls reminde that 'Kind Soul' that some of your colleguage/s have to save $$ for their family expenses. And every cents count.
