Hong Kong 12 - 17 Jun 2014
DAY 5 (16 Jun)

Check out day
Did my check-out at my hotel then went over to the guesthouse. We took bus (Cityflyer) to the Airport since the bus stop is just opposite where my Aunty stays. If we take the train (MTR) we will need to make a transit.

Best Western Grand Hotel -
Goodbye bed, remote control and bath tub!

My Aunty and friend check-in at the airport counter before accompany me to check-in to mine - Regal Airport Hotel.

Room card for Regal Airport Hotel

Room view 1

Room view 2

OMG!!!
My room was damn huge. The TV is huge, bed is so comfortable, a coffee machine (capsule type), bath tub (my bubble bath), working desk and a iPod dock.

I can see the pool area!

Settled everything and went for lunch at the airport before sending my Aunty and friend to the departure hall.

Me time

Initially, planning to watch a movie at the Cinema at the airport but then I was thinking maybe I can travel out of airport to the nearest shopping mall that I haven’t been to before - Olympian City 奥海城.

Also, I can drop by Tim Ho Wan (one Michelin star restaurant) to try their famous dim sum. (Signature dishes include baked bbq pork bun with a crispy crust, cheung fan and Malay sponge cake) Previous visit to Hong Kong, I purposely make a visit to Tim Ho Wan (Mongkok outlet) which at that time they shifted to Olympian City.

Took the Airport Express Train to Lai King Station 荔景 (transit) to Olympic Station 奥运, then I realise I can walk to Mongkok area 旺角 from Olympian City 奥海城.

Having some trouble finding the unit as Olympian City have different section, did a google search on the unit location and finally found it (The main entrance is not inside the mall)

Actually I wanted to pack back to my hotel room to enjoy
but since the place was not crowded, I took a seat and order in.

Greedy order 3 dishes which I couldn’t finished
and had to pack the leftover.

View from my room window - Sunset.

I decided to take a short nap. The bed is so comfortable but sadly I don’t get to enjoy to the fullness as my flight is at 6+am next morning.

By the time I was “awake”, the sky grew dark. Although I not that hungry (had my tea break at 3pm), I still went out to grab some dinner.

My hotel literally next to the airport. There is a
overhead bridge connector from the hotel
to the departure hall. Very convenient.

Decided to packed my dinner back to my hotel room,
really have no idea of what to eat. In the end,
I bought Mcdonald. (The counter staff at Mcdonald
even ask me whether am I the airport staff? Haha)

Rice meal from Mcdonald and the rice reminds me
of the in-flight meal. Lucky I still have the leftover
from Tim Ho Wah (Bbq pork bun)

Working on some last min project while on holiday…
So glad for the working desk in my room.

Took my last bubble bath in the tub!
Chilled, relax and get some sleep.

Hong Kong 12 - 17 Jun 2014
DAY 6 (17 Jun)

Alarm woke me up at 4am. Took a bath, have a quick breakfast, watched some TV, packed up and get ready to check-out of my hotel at 5am.
Goodbye… spacious room, comfort bed, bath tub, huge TV…

The bad thing about Scoot is the timing
back from Hong Kong.

Waiting for boarding. The flight have a slight delay.

Wearing my new Converse back to Singapore!

Goodbye Hong Kong, see you next time.
I do enjoy going on short trip by myself. I can go wherever I want, eat whatever time I want.

End of Holiday.

Hong Kong 12 - 17 Jun 2014
DAY 4 (15 Jun)

Woke up, had my breakfast on bed with my iPad (TV broadcasting Worldcup everyday). Lucky I brought iPad along (watching one of my fav TV series - Rizzoli and Isles Season 4)

Milk + Japanese red bean cake

Before going over to where my aunty stay, I went to local breakfast stall just next to my hotel to get some hot drinks (HK11 per cup for tea, not really cheap either) and local newspaper for my aunty.

I am so "localise" - newspaper + takeaway drinks
from local breakfast stall.

Went to Hong Kong Island today, (we stay on the Kowloon side).

Lunch at our favourite Yakaniku at Gyu 牛角.

Japanese cold noodle, not bad!

After lunch, went separate way as I want to shop at Eslite (诚品)which they will not be interested. Went back to Kowloon side for dinner.

Our orders at Tsui Wah Restaurant 翠華餐廳

瑞士鸡翅 + 炸猪排包

鸳鸯

After dinner, my aunty and friend went back to their guesthouse to rest as tomorrow we will be checking out. They are flying back to Singapore and I will be checking in to the hotel next to the airport due to my awkward flight hours the day after next.

I took the MTR to Mongkok 旺角 to do some last min shopping. As usual, shopping for my Converse shoes. The design I wanted doesn’t have my size. So finally I bought a white Jack Purcell (And this become my working shoes). I not in favour for Jack Purcell bcos of the “smiling” signature design in front of the shoes, but after some time I start to get used to the design which doesnt look that bad.

Deciding between brown and white.
I used to have a brown Converse

On my way back, I bought this Hong Kong style egg waffle 鸡蛋仔 at a stall near my hotel, as I always saw a queue at this stall everyday. I was curious about it and since there is nobody queuing at this hour, I got the original one. Ate it while still hot and fresh, not that bad!

My favourite 鸡蛋仔 for supper!
End of Day 4.

They have a flash mob at Hong Kong Clock Tower 尖沙咀钟楼 from 1pm - 4pm, 14 Jun, Sat - another reason why I want to go Hong Kong also bcos of this, just nice with all the timing. So I went to see pandas and my aunty can do some shopping.

When I arrived before 1pm, only half the
pandas were being spread out.

This is the other half, standing in rows!
Waiting to be "arrange"

Hong Kong 12 - 17 Jun 2014
DAY 2 (13 Jun)

Woke up at a decent timing as I need to travel to airport again to fetch my Aunty and friend.

Control Bear is enjoying himself
on my bed!

Went to explore the area where my aunty will be staying which is like 10min walk from my hotel. This old building house a plentifully of affordable guesthouses, who have security guard and CCTV in the lift.

Signages of Guesthouse in this building

Morning screening in Hong Kong is cheaper.
Too bad I don’t have time for a movie.

Since I have a few hours to spare before going to the airport. I google food places, so glad I had gotten the pre-paid data card. Finally decided to Wired Cafe at Mira Mall (Originating from Tokyo), for a brunch. The interior was very hip, not much people cos it isn’t lunch time yet and on a weekday.

I ordered a Dutch Baby Pancake (served with
Cream Cheese, Maple Syrup and Lemon) and
this isn’t any pancake that I have see before.
It look like egg omelette to me but it taste great.

I took a Bus (Cityflyer) to the airport since I have plenty of time.

Waiting... for arrival

The guesthouse where they stay is called 恒好宾馆 (立信大厦). As the pricing is very affordable in these guesthouse, the room is small, as expected in Hong Kong but at least they have a toilet. The only worry my aunty’s friend have is the door lock seems fragile (one kick on the door will do), as the guesthouse have quite alot of foreigners moving around, so I told them to put their luggage against the door when sleeping.

Feel like one of the screen in Hong Kong movie

After settled, we went out for dinner which I have roasted goose rice (烧鹅饭) (couldn’t get any in Singapore). After dinner, walk around the 尖沙咀 area, after that send them back to their accommodation. End the day early as they are tired after the morning flight from Japan.
